Fresh pasta, a slice of pizza, and a walk through the streets where my family has lived since 1897. That’s the afternoon you’re giving someone when you send them on my North End food tour.

If you’re shopping for someone who loves Italian food, has a Boston trip coming up, or would enjoy a day out together, a North End Boston food tour gift card gives you a plan without choosing their date for them. You pick the dollar amount, and the card has no expiration date.

How the Gift Card Works

The gift card is sold through my FareHarbor booking window. Open the gift-card page, select Buy now, and choose the value you’d like to give. If you enter through the main booking window, choose Gift Card alongside the tour listing.

You don’t need to decide on a tour date when you buy it. That makes it useful for someone coming from out of town, or for a couple who needs to compare calendars before making a plan.

The card is for a dollar amount. If you want to cover the whole outing for one person or two, check the current tour total in the booking window before choosing the value. Gratuity isn’t included in the ticket price.

What You’re Giving Them

My tour is a walk through the neighborhood I call home, with food along the way and the stories behind these streets. We meet at the Tony DeMarco statue at Hanover and Cross Streets, near Haymarket Station, and spend about two to three hours together.

There are six to eight food and drink stops, with tastings that can include pizza, Italian sandwiches, arancini, and pasta. The exact lineup can change, but there’s enough food to count as a full meal. Food and drinks during the tour, including wine, are included in the ticket.

We cover roughly a mile at a relaxed pace. Between stops, I share stories about the families who built this neighborhood, including my own. If the person you’re buying for has Italian roots, my guide to Boston’s Little Italy gives them a little of that history before they arrive.

Come hungry. Leave some room in the day, too, so you can wander back to a street or shop that caught your eye.

Who Would Enjoy a Food Tour Gift?

Start with the person you’d want to spend an afternoon with, maybe the parent who always asks where you’re eating or the friend who plans every trip around lunch.

It’s a good pick for the food lover who already owns every cookbook and gadget. Plenty of my guests are Bostonians, too, people who’ve walked Hanover Street for years and still hear stories on the tour they never knew.

It also works for birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and retirement gifts. If you’re giving it to your partner, you can build a whole day around it with my North End date-night guide.

Before buying, consider whether the walking and food suit your recipient. The North End has narrow sidewalks and some uneven spots. If mobility or dietary needs are part of the decision, get in touch so we can talk through the details. Not every food stop can accommodate every dietary restriction.

Giving It for Christmas or the Holidays

A food tour gift card gives them a plan for after the wrapping paper is cleared away. You can give it in December and plan the visit later, once everyone knows their schedule.

Because the card never expires, there’s no need to squeeze the outing into the holiday week. Check the available tour dates when you’re ready to make a plan, especially if they’re coming to Boston for a particular weekend.

For a family celebration or a thank-you to your team, a private group tour keeps the whole afternoon to your own people. Send me your group size and dates and I’ll help you put it together.

How to Make the Gift Feel Personal

The note you put with it can do a lot. Tell them why you chose the North End, what you’d like to eat together, or why you thought they’d enjoy hearing the neighborhood’s stories.

  • Put a handwritten invitation in a card: “Let’s spend an afternoon eating our way through the North End.”
  • Pair it with a bag of espresso or a bottle of olive oil as a little preview of the day.
  • If you’re going together, set aside time to choose a date after they open it.
  • For someone with Italian heritage, add a line about your family’s hometown or a food memory you share.

You don’t need an elaborate presentation. A personal note and time together are plenty.

Already Know the Date?

You can also book a tour departure and give the recipient the confirmation. This works when you’ve already agreed on a Boston weekend or you’re planning to join them.

Make sure the date works for everyone and read the booking terms before purchasing. If their schedule is still up in the air, the gift card leaves that decision for later.

Common Questions About Food Tour Gift Cards

Do North End Boston Food Tour gift cards expire?

No. The card never expires, so they can save it for whenever they’re next in Boston.

Do I have to choose a tour date when buying a gift card?

No. You choose the gift-card value at purchase. When the recipient is ready to plan their outing, they can choose from available tour dates.

How much should I put on the gift card?

Check the current tour total for the number of people you’re treating before choosing the amount. The gift card has a monetary value; it isn’t automatically a reservation for a set number of guests.

Is this a good gift for someone visiting Boston?

Yes, if they love Italian food and don’t mind a walk. They can build the tour into their trip, and the meeting point is a short walk from Haymarket Station. Just keep in mind I take January through March off.
